Barbecups or "Uglies" as My Kids Call Them

I found this recipe today and decided it looked so good and simple!

Very easy to make and inexpensive, too.

Recipe:
1 can refrigerated biscuit dough
1 lb. ground meat
1 1/2 cups bbq sauce
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 onion, minced

Brown ground beef.  Drain off fat.  Mix in chopped onions and garlic powder.  Add bbq sauce.  Grease muffin pan and put biscuit dough in to make "cups".  Spoon a bit of the beef mixture into each cup and top with shredded cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.  Enjoy!  I served these with a little sour cream.  A huge hit!

Easy Taco Salad

I found these cute little "taco shell baking bowls" in my Avon catalog and thought I'd give them a try.  I am so happy with how easy they were to use and how well they worked!

My girls loved eating a salad out of a "special bowl" - and mom made it, even more cool!  I like that it took me almost no time to bake the shells - about 8 minutes on 350.  Toss a salad, add some cheese and croutons and dinner is done!

Hurricanes in Paradise by Denise Hildreth

I recently got the opportunity to review the book "Hurricans in Paradise" by Denise Hildreth.  I really enjoyed this book.

The book focuses on Riley Sinclair, a broken woman and the strong relationships that form between her and three other guests at a five-star hotel.  Riley has taken a new job at the resort and with her fresh start comes realizations about herself and others.

I found this book to be very touching - this is a realistic, uplifting book about grace, faith and friendship.  The author really makes you feel for Riley, Winnie, Tamyra and Laine.  This book served to remind me also that many of us have secrets and fears, which we choose to keep tucked inside.

These four women are in the eye of their own personal storms as well as a real storm - and in the end, we are all under the care of God's watchful eye.  A wonderful story - I know you'll enjoy this book!

Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.

Yoursphere: Safe Online Site for Kids - Final Review

I am at the end of my run as a Yoursphere Test Drive Mom.  I am so glad that my daughter and I were able to be part of this campaign.

Yoursphere is an excellent choice for moms of tweens - it's a safe, online environment.  I really like that I can monitor my daughter's "spheres", her main page, her friends and her activities.

My daughter has really enjoyed personalizing her space and making online friends (many of whom are the children of other test drive moms!). She has created spheres that interest her and has met new friends that way as well.

Another feature that my daughter loves is the games section.  And, she has created her own online blog within her main Yoursphere page.  Here favorite part of Yoursphere is ourWorld - she has created and decorated her own condo, avatar and more.
I highly recommend Yoursphere; it's a safe online environment with a lot of options to keep kids busy.  They can personalize their site, blog, play games, make friends, listen to music, watch (appropriate) videos, enter contests and more!

If you are interested in Yoursphere or would like to sign your child up, please use this referral code: YSMC-0024.

I wrote this review while participating in the Yoursphere Test Drive program by Mom Central on behalf of Yoursphere. I received a free lifetime Gold membership on Yoursphere.com, Yoursphere t-shirts, and a $50 American Express gift card to facilitate my review.
